Counseling Services Offered

Eating Disorder Treatment

Eating disorders are serious, complex illnesses that impact all areas of an individuals life, not just the physical and emotional. They require specialized therapeutic interventions, medical support and nutritional guidance. I specialize working with individuals over the entire spectrum of recovery and am well connected with other eating disorder trained specialists to ensure you have a well rounded team to assist you on the path to recovery.

Mood Disorders

Mood disorders can range from the mild or situational to the severe and chronic. All levels of distress warrant spending time evaluating the history and origin of the current stressors and identifying coping skills that may help you discover a new way of functioning that better fits your values and ideals for your life. At times a mood disorder may warrant using psychopharmacology or medications to achieve base-line functioning which is an option you and I would discuss in more detail if it makes sense for you. I work closely with local psychiatrists to make sure you have positive continuity of care to achieve your best state of mental health.

General Life Adjustment Concerns

General life adjustments can include major or minor changes that make up our life journey. Marriage, pregnancy, divorce, a move, employment concerns, returning or finishing school, death of loved ones. Change often is the spark that causes individuals to use long-held coping skills which may or may not be appropriate or helpful to you at this time. If you find that you just aren’t quite “making it” after a life shift it may be a signal to seek out professional assistance to support yourself during transitions.

Healthy Sexuality

Questioning sexuality, worries about intimacy and connection with others, not quite sure “what is okay”, history or current trauma. These concerns are all part of human sexuality and can cause significant anxiety particularly in our society. Discussing these concerns with a professional in a non-judgemental manner can be helpful in unveiling personal values, identifying communication skills and normalizing sexuality so that you can move forward in your life and find empowerment in every aspect of your life.

LGBTQ

I am a safe person and well versed in the concerns and issues that are common within the LGBTQ population.

I work best with clients aged 18+ and do not provide services for children or young adolescents.

Additionally I provide clinical supervision for LPC Candidates.
